Beginning of a steeking project!
well here i am again trying to get to blogging regularly
i watched the film julie and julia recently and it always makes me determined to blog more lol
i have purchased a gorgeous pattern by julie dubreux aka julieknitsin paris called the gaudi cardigan which is knit in the round and then steeked
what is steeking you may ask, it is one of the most scary things a knitter can do to their work, i.e. cut it!
i have some gorgeous yarn from blue moon finer arts that i am going to use with a lone skein from either witch candy yarn or sock obsessions yarn
for the yoke contrast
i have seen many people online cutting their work i.e. steeking but it is still very scary
i am wondering whether i can set up a KAL that is a knit-a-long for this project but i am not sure whether this has to be the designer, watch this space
anyhow i will be winding my yarn this evening and hopefully casting on
any comments or advice will be welcome

Exploding Tardis yarn
This is one of my favourite yarns
I have previously spun 120 yards from 2 oz of rolags and this time it came out at 95 yards
I love the texture of the yarn and the beautiful changing colours

Most recent spinning
Here we are again at the beginning of a new year and I have my usual resolution to blog more often
I have been working on spinning and knitting all this last year and the shop is still up and running
This is a lovely yarn that I spun recently called Candy Canes
It is a mixture of merino, bamboo silk and Angelina
It is 110 yards and would be great for a small project

Marvel comics character gloves
These are my hand knit Captain America texting/fingerless gloves
The yarn was hand spun by weirdandtwisted on Etsy
I think of a theme, presently we are working on Marvel comic characters
This Captain America yarn has little stars spun in and is gorgeous when knitted
They sold from my etsy shop Woolnlove

New Year, new determination to write!
So this is the beginning of 2015 and I am determined to try and write my blog every day, this is always my New Years resolution, and usually I fail!
I watched the film "Julie and Julia" recently, you know the one where she cooks her way through Julia Child's cook book and blogs, well I was re-inspired by that to really concentrate on blogging
Prior to Christmas I was persuaded to sell some of my yarn and fibre through the Comox Christmas fayre, this turned out to be a great idea and a sufficient amount of goods were sold to make it worthwhile.
I also took some yarn to the LYS in the next town and the owner agreed to take some yarn and try to sell it, she also gave advice on colours that would be popular in the Spring which I am going to experiment with.
I am progressing well with my spinning and was delighted to see that 4 of my hand spun yarns sold at the Christmas fayre!
I have added several more hand spun yarns to my shop and am progressing well I think
